A Brass Eye For Detail

Very exciting things are happening in the world of the silver screen. Iron Man 2 is due out in just 3 short months, Tim Burton wants to direct an Adaams Family film using stop motion animation…and Chris Morris is back.

If you weren’t already aware, on May 7th, Chris Morris (yes, him off the telly programme about good/bad aids) is releasing his big screen directoral debut entitled Four Lions. And it’s about suicide bombers. Have I mentioned that?

The premise sees a group of 4 would be suicide bombers planning an attack on London. Only, they are COMPLETELY hopeless- planning to blow up crows and the internet at various stages duirng planning. The footage released online so far (including the trailer which you can see below) is just about some of the funniest satire I have ever seen. The film is shaping up to be utterly ridiculous and funny to the point that nappies will probably be handed out before you walk into your respective screenings.

Also, of course, with this being something Chris Morris has done, there will be people who would like to see it banned. A film making light of suicide bombings… Hello Daily Mail brigade, how are you? But never fear- this film is one which will be seen by, hopefully, thousands and the bad press will just drive people to see it more eagerly.

May 7th, where are you?

Later Days
